I presented this project on the exterior windows of Arts Access Victoria. Involving 16 D/deaf & Disabled people from within the City of Port Phillip and sitting in a safe space, I was allowing for a natural connection and the sharing of common experiences to happen. These drawings were made with one single continuous black line as I observed the sitter for the duration of the drawing. Not looking away from the subject, the line happened quickly and intuitively. Watercolour was later used to give further form and life to the artwork. The final images were then enlarged and placed around the exterior of the building. This project aims to represent and empower the D/deaf & Disabled community through the creative process of portrait drawing.
