The FRONTUP! project is presented on the exterior windows of Arts Access Victoria (AAV). The project involved a conversation with 16 D/deaf & Disabled people in the City of Port Phillip. Sittings in a safe space and allowing for a natural connection and the sharing of common experiences, these drawings were made with one single continuous black line as I observed the sitter for the duration of the drawing. Not looking away from the subject, the line happened quickly and intuitively. Watercolour was later used to give further form and life to the artwork. The final images were then enlarged and placed around the exterior of the AAV building. This project aims to represent and empower the D/deaf & Disabled community through the creative process of portrait drawing.
